Abstract

1,087,850. Carpet sweepers. GUNTER LEIFHEIT KOMM.-GES. June 9, 1966 [June 12, 1965], No. 25762/66. Heading A4F. A carpet sweeper comprising a housing 10 in which is mounted two pairs of running wheels 15 drivably connected to a rotatable roller brush 17 is provided with two dust-collecting containers 18, the containers 18 supporting freely rotatable roller brushes 21 by means of members 27 which are fixed to the containers 18 and which form handles for facilitating the opening of the dust collecting containers 18 for emptying purposes. The members 27 which may be of plastics material accommodate the ends of the brushes 21 in bearing recesses (32) (Fig. 3, not shown) of oval cross-section. The housing 10 which may be of metal sheeting and provided with a bumper 11 is fitted at two opposite sides with plates 12 which rotatably support a yoke 13 connectable to a handle, the plate 12 being provided with detents 14 which are employed to hold the yoke 13 in an upright position.
