Abstract

1,086,653. Packages for tablets. G. D. SEARLE & CO. July 19, 1966 [July 28, 1965], No. 32260/65. Heading B8C. In a tablet pack, the tablets are contained in transparent pockets (15), Fig. 4 (not shown), secured to a metallic foil sheet (14), the sheet being placed on a panel 5 of a blank 1, and panel 6 of the blank being folded over, so that the pockets (15) project through holes 10 in the panel 6, and are in register with circular flaps 12 in panel 5. The panels 5 and 6 may be glued together enclosing the sheet, or they may be provided with end flaps and a side flap respectively, which are folded between the sheet and opposing panel. On pressing a pocket (15), the tablet breaks the sheet (14), and hinges open the flap 12 to be dispensed. To secure the package closure, panels 4, 3 and 7 are folded around the panels 5 and 6, and tab 8 secured in slot 9. The tablets may be arranged in three parallel rows. A dosage schedule may be printed both on or adjacent the flaps 12 and adjacent the holes 10.
