Abstract

1,086,153. Endless conveyers. SOVEX Ltd. March 21, 1966 [March 22, 1965], No. 11999/65. Heading B8A. Articles are transferred from a flexible endless belt conveyer 9 to an endless belt conveyer 18 by the action of a section of the belt 9 being twisted into a laterally sloping section. A section 16 of a fence 15 of smooth carbon steel may be lowered (Fig. 3, not shown) to permit transfer of an article. In a modification (Fig. 1, not shown) the whole of the belt 9 is canted over laterally and a portion (4) of a feeding belt is twisted over to the same inclination. The belt 9 may be a flexible steel band or may be of rubber or plastics, faced with metal. It may alternatively be of spaced slabs of metal or beech wood. It may also be of woven metal mesh, or may comprise wood or metal slats, carried by chains or bands, or successively hinged together.
