Abstract
1,085,827. Photographic development. AGFA-GEVAERT A. G. Aug. 26, 1965 [Aug. 27, 1964], No. 36733/65. Heading G2C. Developers for producing a black and white silver image or a combined black-and-white silver and dyestuff image from a colour photographic material contain a N, N, N', N' -tetralkyl alkylene diamine having at least 3 carbon atoms in the alkylene group as an accelerator, and a silver halide developer. Specified silver halide developers are 1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidone, a mixture of hydroquinone and p-methyl-aminol phenol, and p-phenylenediamines. The developing solution may also contain carbonates, sulphites and bromides. In a typical Example, (1), an exposed tripack colour material containing specified colour couplers is developed with a solution containing inter alia N-butyl-N-w-sulphobutyl-pphenylene diamine, hydroxylamine sulphate and (CH 3 ) 2 N(CH 2 ) 6 N(CH 3 ) 2 , fixed, and hardened with HCHO; in Example (2) a similar material is developed with a solution containing the diamine of Example 1, 1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidone, and benzotriazole, given a diffuse exposure, developed with the developers of Example 1, and fixed in a silver bleach-fixing bath.
