Abstract

In a photo-copying or printing apparatus original and sensitized sheets are placed on a transparent or translucent support 3 carried by a light box 1 and a frame 4, hinged at 6 and having a resiliently faced pressure platen 8 pivoted thereto at 10 is rotated down on to the box 1, the platen 8 being maintained in a plane parallel to the support 3. The frame is provided with a spring for counterbalancing its hinging movement and with a lever 13 which releases a pawl 11 on the frame from a ratchet 12 on the box, one edge of which may be chamfered to facilitate copying from a bound volume. A developer section may be provided in the box.
