[Also in Division E2] In a photographic contact printer having an adjustable heat or light source arranged in a base 1, the original and copy sheets are placed on a surface 2 and a hinged lid 17 is rotated from a dotted line position 21<SP>1</SP> to the solid line position shown against the action of tension springs 7, 8. In another embodiment (Fig. 5, not shown), to accommodate large originals the lid is removed and rotated through 180 degrees about a vertical axis, and then replaced, the hinge portions on the base and lid acting as abutments.
