Abstract

1,239,774. Photo-copying apparatus. RICOH K.K. Sept.30, 1968 [Sept.29, 1967(3)], No.46405/68. Headings G2A and G2H. Photo-copying apparatus having an original support surface and a copy sheet support surface is provided with an optical projection system comprising a focusing element and at least two mirrors, at least two of the focusing element and the mirrors being displaceable to alter the magnification. The focusing element comprises a lens and a mirror. As shown, the first mirror 4 is stationary and the element 5 and a second mirror 6 are movable in the direction indicated. The arrangement is provided in an electrostatic printer having a cutter 10 and a developing chamber 1d. In another embodiment Fig. 3 (not shown), the light from the original falls first on a movable focusing element (27) and then on to two movable mirrors (29), (30) before impinging on the copy material. In a further embodiment Figs.4, 5 (not shown), the light path consists of a first movable mirror (44), a fixed focusing element (47) and a second movable mirror (46).
