Abstract

1,057,096. Contact printing apparatus. WERNER ZINDLER, [trading as LUMOPRINT ZINDLER KOMM GES]. April 17, 1964 [April 27, 1963], No.16054/64. Heading G2A. A contact printing apparatus has a light stop 18 between the light source 17 and the transparent sheet-supporting surface 11. The elongated light source is disposed symmetrically above surface 11, and the central part of the surface would thus receive more intense illumination than the outer parts. By providing the stop 18, which intercepts light falling directly on the central part, a more uniform illumination is achieved. A further improvement is provided in that the housing has sloping side walls 12, 52, which diverge from the lamp 17 to the edges of surface 11, and which act as reflectors. An additional housing part formed by walls 13, 32 encloses a developing section 27. In the form shown, the apparatus is set up for copying a page of a book 26, which is pressed against the under side of surface 11 by a pressure plate 20 under the action of a lever 21, 22. In a different arrangement, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), the book (44) rests against the top and side of the apparatus. A pressure flap (46) may be hinged at (45) to an adjustable slide (48), and held against the book by a spring (49).
