Abstract

Powdered carbides of one or more of the metals Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, and W are mixed with an auxiliary metal (i.e. Ru, Rh, Pd, Os, Ir, Pt, Re or alloy thereof) in amount 0.1 - 3.0% by wt. of the carbide and pressure sintered to form a moulding.ALSO:Powdered carbides of one or more of the metals Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta and W are mixed with an auxiliary metal (i.e. Ru, Rh, Pd, Os, Ir, Pt, Re or alloy thereof) in amount 0.1-3% by weight of the carbide and pressure-sintered to form a moulding.
