Abstract

1,082,516. Boots &c. COKER & SONS. June 9, 1964 [June 10, 1963], No. 23108/63. Heading A3B. A stud is atached to a member positioned between the welt or insole and the sole or heel. In a first embodiment (Fig. 1) a stud 2 having a tubular portion 3 is inserted into a tubular portion 5 of a disc 4 positioned between the sole 10 and the insole (not shown), an anvil 9 expanding the tube 3 into a recess 8 to lock the stud on to the shoe. In a second embodiment (not shown) the stud has a bifurcatedshank which is expanded by a similar anvil into apertures in the tubular portion of the disc.
