Abstract

1,081,560. Measuring dewpoint. AQMEL ELECTRONIQUE & MECANIQUE D'AQUITAINE. Dec.10, 1965 [Dec.10, 1964], No. 52541/65. Heading G1S. In a gas condensation analyser for measuring the dewpoint of a vapour contained in a gas, a metal condensation surface 2 forms the end of a cylinder 3 mounting a heater coil 4, which is supported by a copper rod 5 connected to a heat sink 6. The heat sink 6 is divided by a perforated disc 9 and has an inlet 7 and an outlet 8, cryogenic liquid catering inlet 7 from a Dewar flask to evaporate at 9 to cool the rod 8. In one example (see Fig. 3, not shown), the cryogenic liquid is sucked through the system by a diaphragm pump 21, (see Fig. 4, not shown) but in a further example a flow controller is supplied consisting of a heatdeformable bi-metallic strip which bends dependent on the cooling effect of the gas to control its flow. A safety valve may be provided to maintain the pressure in the Dewar flask such that the liquefied gas may rise into chamber 6B.
