Abstract

1,081,371. Printing apparatus. ROLAND OFFSETMASCHINENFABRIK FABER & SCHLEICHER A.G. Feb. 3, 1965 [Feb. 19, 1964], No. 4631/65. Heading B6C. An inking mechanism for a rotary printing press having a forme cylinder and axially reciprocal rubbing rollers comprises a drive for producing the reciprocal movement of the rollers in synchronism with the rotation of the forme cylinder, the drive being adapted to permit the individual adjustment of the stroke of the reciprocal movement of each roller and also the phase difference between the cycle of reciprocal movement of each roller and the rotation of the forme cylinder. In the described embodiment each rubbing roller 2 is reciprocated through an angular lever 18 and an adjustable eccentric mounting arrangement as shown in Fig. 2. The latter permits stepless adjustment of the roller stroke and comprises a shaft 1 to which is clamped in the required position an eccentric disc 11 formed with a central slot 12 and diametrically extending radial grooves 10. Clamping is effected by securing a collar 3 (Fig. 1, not shown) to the shaft this collar bearing diametrically opposed keys engageable in the grooves 10. An ink forme roller is associated with each roller 2.
