Abstract
108,048. Carr, F. S. Aug. 14, 1916. Pouches. - Consists in securing the flap of a cartridge pouch or pocket by a fastening designed to be disconnected only by a downward tilting movement. In the construction shown in Figs. 1, 3 and 4, the stud-and-socket fastening described in Specification 29930/10 is used, comprising a stud 16 on the pocket and a socket 18 on the flap, the socket containing a spring member 21, 22, Figs. 3 and 4, having parallel parts 21 terminating at the bottom in curved parts which engage under the head of the stud. By a downward tilt the parallel parts 21 are wedged apart by the stud head, but an upward or a sideways tilt does not produce this wedging action. The fastening is manipulated by an upwardly-directed tab 25. In a modification, Fig. 6, the socket is on a separate tab 25<a> hinged to the flap at the bottom, and in a second modification, Fig. 7, the socket is on a separate tab 25b hinged to the body of the pocket.
