Stud-and-socket fastenings.-In a fastener for bags, purses, &c., in which a notched peg is engaged by a sliding bolt a, the spring f controlling the bolt comprises a straight or slightly curved leogth of spring wire bearing at its centre against projections a<3>, a<4> on the bolt, and at its ends against abutments d<4>, d<5> stamped out of the back-plate d. To facilitate assemblage of the parts, the spring may be loosely, but permanently, connected to the abutments d<4>, d<5>.
