Abstract

107,976. Ely, C. H. July 8, 1916, [Convention date]. Rotary brushes ; toothbrushes. - In toothbrush for operating on both sides and the crown of the teeth simultaneously, disks 1<a> carry an annular ring of tufts 2<a>, the disks being rotatably mounted on a bent spindle 4d centrally connected to the handle 3a. The part of the handle through which the spindle passes also carries a series of tufts 8<a> on one or both sides of the handle for engaging the crowns of one or both sets of teeth. The spindle is preferably covered with soft rubber and is bent as shown in Fig. 9 to allow the tufts to engage the bottom portions of the teeth. The spindle may he bent at the ends so that the bristles slightly separate at the part where the handle passes The springs 10, while keeping the bristles against the teeth permit of a slight endways movement of the disks.
