Abstract

The toothbrush comprises a head with a hub (21) disposed perpendicularly to a handle (23), and with a spring element (22a, 22b) to which is applied an up and down chewing movement. The spring element includes peripheral radially extending bristles (20) forming at least one ring of which the axis is concentric to the axis of the hub. Pref. there are at least two concentric rings of bristles on each side of the head, so that top and bottom teeth are cleaned simultaneously. The head may be horseshoe-shaped to clean all the teeth at the same time. By this means the most active bacteria breeding areas are cleaned.
