1459189 Hairbrushes H LEIGHTON 1 Feb 1974 [8 Feb 1973 28 Sept 1973] 6352/73 and 45487/73 Heading A4K A hairbrush comprises a plurality of annular bristle carrying members detachably disposed in a forward or reverse manner on a shank 12, the members being secured against rotation by engagement of a projection 17 on each member with a groove 13 in the shank, the projection 17 being so disposed relative to the bristles that the bristles on an annular member mounted in a forward manner are angularly displaced with respect to the bristles on an annular member mounted in the reverse manner and a brush having all the members mounted in the same manner has half the number of rows of bristles as a brush with the members mounted in alternate forward and reverse manners. The shank may include a cushioning sleeve 18 keyed to the shank by a projection and groove 19. The sleeve may be rubber or polystyrene foam.
