Abstract

1,078,215. Tiltable swivel seats. AMERICAN METAL PRODUCTS CO. Nov. 16, 1965, No. 48553/65. Heading A4J In a chair, in which the seat 10 is tiltable about a pivot pin 21 to compress elastomeric block 50 or a coil spring member (28) (Fig. 1, not shown), but not in the reverse direction, the compressive loading of the resilient member is variable by screwing head 11 into and out of sleeve 31. Pin 21 is mounted in an horizontal stirrup 12 which is welded to head part 11. A ball 25 of metal or polymeric resin impregnated with molybdenum disulphide transmits the load from seat 10 to member 50. A roller may alternatively be used.
