Abstract

1,077,893. Carburetters. SOCIETE INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES. Jan. 11, 1966 [Jan. 12, 1965], No. 1245/66. Heading F1B. A carburetter slow running device comprises a needle 10, Fig. 3 in which a conical surface 11 is prolonged by a cylindrical or conical central core 14 which remains engaged in orifice 8 in all regulating positions of the needle so that the flow passage for fuel or mixture is always annular. The diameters of orifice 8 and core 14 are chosen so that the slow running mixture does not exceed a predetermined value when conical surface 11 is disengaged from orifice 8 as shown. In modifications the needle 10 or the central core and conical surface are made of a deformable synthetic plastics. A method of determining the required size of core 14 using a flowmeter on a carburetter detached from the engine is described.
