A column stand 2 for supporting a movable support 10 carrying an X-ray tube 12 and intensifier tube 13 with or without a camera 16, the support being displaceable about two axes at right angles to each other which have a common point of intersection with the main ray of the X-ray beam 17 is characterized by a horizontal supporting arm 5, rigidly secured to the column or a carriage displaceable along the column, having a circularly curved end 6, the face of which is at least equal to “ of a circle and the centre point of which coincides with the intersection of the main ray and two axes. The arm has a sliding member 8 displaceable along this end face 6 and is provided with a rotary shaft 9 which faces the point of intersection and connects support 10 with sliding member 8.
