Abstract
1,076,861. Transistor switching circuits; inductive signalling. MICHELIN & CIE (COMPAGNIE GENERALE DES ETABLISSEMENTS MICHELIN). April 1, 1965 [April 6, 1964], No. 13917/65. Headings H3T and H4U. [Also in Divisions B7 and G4] An arrangement for signalling a condition of a first member movable relative to a second member comprises: a coil 8 attached to the first member, and arranged to be connected in a closed loop on the attainment of the required condition; and a pair of mutually coupled coils 10 mounted on the second member; the arrangement being such that when the circuit through coil 8 is completed movement of it near the coils 10 changes the mutual coupling between them. As described, the coil 8 is mounted on the wheel of a vehicle, and the shorting switch 5 is actuated by the temperature or pressure of the tyre. If the switch 5 is closed, passage of coil 8 past coils 10 as the wheel revolves reduces the mutual coupling until relaxation oscillator 20, 21 ceases to oscillate. Bi-stable circuits 26, 27 and 29, 30 then change their state and lamp 32 is lit. When the coil 8 moves away from coils 10, oscillations re-start, and circuit 26, 27 changes back to its initial state. Diode 31a prevents circuit 29, 30 from resetting until reset switch 33 is actuated.
