Abstract

1,007,619. Spinning processes. DITTA MICHELE RATTI S. P. A., OFFICINA FONDERIA TORCITURA. Nov. 22,1963 [Sept. 5,1963], No. 46240/63. Heading D1F. A change in tension in a running yarn 3 is signalled by a device comprising yarn-engaging pulleys 1 and 2 secured to a supporting frame 6 and on the end of a lever 7 carried by a pivoted shaft 8. Slidable weights 9 and 10 enable a scale 11 to be calibrated and determine the value (in grams) of the weight-brought to bear by pulley 2 on the yarn (as shown on the scale) thereby to set the tension below which an alarm circuit is closed. When the tension in the yarn is inadmissibly low, the lever 7 swings from the operating position shown to a stable horizontal alarm position, where it is retained by a magnet 23 attracted to a core 24 or a spring-biased toggle mechanism, and a cam 12 closes one or two pairs of normally open contacts, as at 13, 14 thereby completing one or more circuits, Fig. 3 (not shown) to operate a signal lamp and/or a bell or buzzer.
