Abstract

1,075,700. Unwinding. AVI ALPENLANDISCHE VEREDELUNGS - INDUSTRIE G.m.b.H. Oct. 22, 1965 [Dec. 1, 1964], No. 44847/65. Heading B3E. Apparatus for unwinding strip from a roll there of comprises a holder allowing the roll to rotate and a strip straightener having rollers between which the strip passes, at least one of the rollers being driven and serving to feed the strip, the position of one of the straightener rolls being controlled by a feeler lever, the position of which varies with the diameter of the roll of strip. Welded reinforcement fabric, from a roll 9 thereof supported on rollers 11 in a holder 1, passes between driven straightening rollers 5, 6, 7 of a straightener 3 to a cutter 4. The holder 1, straightener 3 and cutter 4 are all mounted on a common mobile base 10, e.g. a lorry, and may be associated with a stacker for the cut lengths. The roller 6 is coupled to a lever 2 resting on the roll 9 so as to be moved upwards as the roll 9 decreases in diameter. The roller 7 is vertically adjustable by hand. The apparatus may be used in association with a mobile concreting machine for use on road sites.
