Abstract

1320458 Roll dispensers T M J VAN EVERDINGEN 19 Oct 1971 [ 22 Oct 1970] 48472/71 Heading A4G [ Also in Division B4] A device for cutting off lengths from a carpet web comprising a frame 1 for rotatably supporting at least one carpet roll 2 and a cutting member 4 mounted on a guide bar 5 provided at each end with a jaw 8 for gripping the adjacent edges of the web, the cutting member being slidable along the bar for cutting off the desired length. The guide bar 5 is formed with slideways 6 in which the clamping jaws 8 and cutting member 4 are slidably mounted. In operation, the jaws are gripped to the edges of the web as shown in Fig. 1, the level of the bar being accurately adjusted by means of steel tapes 9; alternatively a water level may be mounted in the cutting member. When the bar is correctly set the cutting member is moved along the bar to cut the web.
