[Also in Divisions G2 and G5] A keeper comprises a body of resilient material adapted to be inserted between and in light frictional engagement with the flanges of a spool and in contact with the last turn of tape or film thereon, the surface for contacting the tape or film being concave and longer in the longitudinal direction of the tape or film than in the transverse direction. -This concave surface functions as a suction cup, and the keeper is further provided with a handle 10, arcuate projecting ribs 14 on the side walls, and a longitudinal groove 16 in the concave surface.
