Abstract

1,074,262. Fixing tiles. G. BARKER. Nov. 18, 1965 [Feb. 20, 1965], No. 7423/65. Heading E1B. Tiles 6 are fixed to a wall facing; or a panel 1 (as shown and as disclosed in Specification 1,054,088) by forming horizontal and vertical grooves in, e.g., the panel, inserting a gridwork of strips 2-5, of cardboard, hardboard, wood or metal. some strips 3 and 5, being wider than the other strips, 2 and 4, and thus forming a raised rectangular framework, and plastering the tiles 6 in position in said rectangular framework, and spaced from the panel 1 by the strips 2 and 4. The strips 2-5 are each slotted from at least one side at each point of intersection with a transverse strip.
