Abstract

1,074,133. Photographic silver halide materials. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Dec. 9, 1963 [Dec. 11, 1962], No.48460/63. Heading G2C. A photographic silver halide material contains in the emulsion as an anti-foggant, at least one formazan of Formula I:- and/or at least one of Formula II:- wherein R1 and R2 are aryl or substituted aryl groups, R3 is an aryl, nitro or carbalkoxy group and X is a dialkoxy diphenyl group. Examples of compounds are given wherein R1 and R2 are phenyl groups one of which may be substituted in para-position by an acetamido or phenylazo group, R3 is phenyl, nitro or carbethoxy group and X is 3:3<1 >- dimethoxy-biphenylene.
