Abstract

1,073,802. Bearings. SAIA A.G. Jan. 22, 1965 [Jan. 28, 1964], No.. 2857/65. Heading F2A. A plain bearing is made of synthetic plastics material and has a bush (1), Fig. 1 (not shown), connected by an elastically-deformably coupling-member (3) to a mounting-ring (2). The section of the coupling-member (3) is smaller than that of the bush (1) so as to prevent distortion of the latter when mounted and the mounting-ring (2) is provided with an annular bead (7) and a shoulder (8) to allow the mounting-ring (2) to be press-fitted into a wall (6) of a machine for example. The mounting-ring (2) can be retained permanently by forcing a spreading-ring (9) between the bush (1) and the mounting-ring (2), barbed ridges (11) of the ring (9) biting into the ring (2). In a modification, an axle (14), Fig. 2 (not shown), is restricted axially by means of a surface (13) of a wall (12) and a lubricating-groove (15) is provided. Other modifications include the mounting-ring (2) being divided into segments by radial slots, the coupling-member (3) being divided into segments by radial slots, both the mounting-ring (2) and the coupling-member (3) being divided into segments by radial slots, separate coupling members being distributed annularly around the bush (1), separate coupling members being inclined relative to the radial plane, the coupling member axially-connecting the bush (1) and the mounting-ring (2), the internal diameter of the spreading-ring (9) being made substantially equal to the external diameter of the bush (1) so as to provide reinforcement therefor, and the barbed ridges (11) being replaced by a helicalshaped barb.
