Abstract

1,257,555. Rolling bearings. SVENSKA KULLAGERFABRIKEN A.B. 25 July, 1969 [26 July, 1968 (2)], No. 37496/69. Heading F2A. A rolling bearing is provided with an annular flange 10 connected at its inner periphery with one of the races 1 and extending outwardly at an acute angle to the bearing axis, the flange being able to flex resiliently about the connection. The flexibility may be achieved by slotting the flange. The flange may be attached to a part of the race 9 which is frusto-conical and is also provided with slots to make it resilient. Alternatively, the flange and race may be of plastics material or the race may be of plastics to which is secured a metal bush carrying a slotted metal flange (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown). A sealing and retaining ring 8 is provided on the other race 2.
