Abstract
1,072,755. Valves. NOSTORAG A.G. July 2, 1964 [April 23, 1964], No. 27287/64. Heading F2V. A valve body 1 is pressed, injection moulded or cast from a plastics material, e.g. cast from a filled epoxy resin, about metal inlet and outlet conduits 2, 3 with a valve seat formed around the upper rim of the outlet conduit 3 or, with a shorter conduit 3, around a similarly shaped internal body projection upon which a diaphragm 7, carrying plate 8, is seated by inlet pressure operating via orifice 16. To open the valve, an electro-magnetic system 14 is energized to raise a ferric core 10 carrying a resilient seal 11 to permit lowering of inlet pressure above the diaphragm by discharge through seat 9 on plate 8. The seating of resilient seal 11 may also be assisted by a spring. The diaphragm 7 is circumferentially retained at a bead 6 within body step 5 and the electro-magnetic system 14 is secured to the body at a flange 12 by a packing of adhesive, lead or resin 15. Three valves serving separate outlets may be cast together with a common inlet serving two of the valves, one of which is connected to the remaining valve by a cast-in tube. The valve may be directly opened by a resilient closure attached to the core 10, in place of the diaphragm 7.
