Abstract

1,072,151. Combined buffing and draw-gear. STANDARD CAR TRUCK CO. June 2, 1964 [March 12, 1964], No. 22783/64. Heading B7T. A coupler shank 9 keyed to a draft yoke 4 is slidably supported on the yoke by wear plates 13, 14 and is provided with an upper wear plate 15 against which a plate 16 is pressed by a spring 17 fixed to a centre sill 1. The plate 16, which tilts to the dotted position shown when the shank is removed, counterbalances the weight of the coupler centred at point 19. The follower 5 is engaged by the end of the draft cushion 7 and is limited in movement by stops 8.
