Abstract

1,068,711. Root-crop harvesters. E.-T. Y. GRAY. Jan. 7, 1963 [Oct. 5, 1961], No. 35890/61. Addition to 859,919. Heading A1F. [Also in Divisions B8 and E1] A harvesting scoop adapted to be mounted on the forwardly or rearwardly extending lifting arms on a tractor (see Divisions B8, E1) comprises forwardly extending tines 29, which curve upwardly to a cross-bar 30, and side members 31. V-shaped cutting blades 34 are arranged between some of the tines so that as the scoop is pushed forwardly along rows of growing crops, such as beet, the tines and blades lift the crops and cut them from their roots.
