Abstract

481,029. Implements for working land; digging root crops. LEA, F. J. Sept. 5, 1936, No. 24308. [Classes 6 (i) and 6 (iii)] A share for a plough or for a root-crop raising-machine is provided with separately formed tines extending obliquely of, and downwardly from, its leading edge. Fig. 1 shows a ploughshare provided with an angle-section tine 2 at its leading corner having one flange vertical, and with two other spaced tines 3, 4 extending substantially in the plane of the share plate 1 and in the direction of motion. The share is cast or forged with recesses to receive the tines 2, 3, 4, which may be removably secured by rivets 7 &c. The share plate may be formed with a tapering strengthening rib at the back and with a shoulder to fit against the member carrying it. Fig. 5 shows a share for a potato-digger or a root-crop raising-machine provided with downwardly and forwardly projecting tines 11 secured in recesses by rivets 7.
