Spring wheels with continous outer rigid ring and helical and volute springs and rubber-ring and like hubs and cushions.-Hub and rim members are connected by resilient units each comprising on one member a double concave spoke, which may be either solid or resilient, and on the other member rollers engaging the spoke; only one resilient member is used in conjunction with each spoke or arm. Fig. 1 shows a portion of a wheel comprising a rim member built up of side plates bolted together by bolts p, r and carrying a tread q, and a hub member includsolid arms a which are engaged by rollers c guided in slots d in the rim member and drawn towards the spoke by a tension or compression spring b. In one modification, the rollers are fixed in the rim members and the spokes divided radially, and the parts slide in guides and are pressed apart by a spring. In a further modification, Fig. 12, the spokes a<2> are solid blocks of rubber &c. and are fixed in the hub member. Rollers c<2> abut. against the spokes. In alternative forms, the spokes may be fixed on the rim members, and the. rollers on the hub members.
