Abstract
1,068,096. Protecting transistors. FERNSEH G.m.b.H. Nov. 23, 1964 [Nov. 23, 1963], No. 47625/64. Heading H3T. [Also in Division G3] The focusing coil 12 of a television camera is supplied with constant current from a source 14 over a conventional regulating circuit 16 including a transistor 27 which is protected against possible overvoltage by a circuit comprising a series transistor 6 associated with resistors R 1 and R 2 . The arrangement is such that the resistance of transistor 6 increases with increase in the voltage applied to the series combination 6, 27; thus the voltage at point 10 in the circuit is prevented from rising to a value such as to damage transistor 27, since the resistance of transistor 6 increases with any increase in applied voltage at point 9 in the circuit.
