Abstract

1,041,420. Transformers. MATERIEL ELECTRIQUE S.W. Sept. 18, 1964 [Sept. 19, 1963], No. 38234/64. Heading HIT. An auto-transformer having the low tension line connected to the junction of the common and series windings 3, 2 (Fig. 1, not shown) through a control winding 1 has the latter (8) protected by at least one electrostatic screen 18, 19 (Fig. 3), other electrostatic screens 20, 21 being connected to the junction of windings 3 and 2. Two control windings may be used. Some of the windings may be formed of parallel connected portions which may have their diameters gradually increasing from the plane of symmetry. The control winding may comprise interleaved layers.
