Abstract
1,205,575. Protecting transistors against overload. SIEMENS A.G. 19 Oct., 1967 [20 Oct., 1966], No. 47613/67. Heading H3T. [Also in Division H2] Excessive current through a transistor T is prevented by a Darlington pair transistor switch connected in shunt with the input from 1 and provided with collector-to -base feedback, the base electrode being connected to a tap on a potentiometer R1, R2 connected across the protected transistor so that the drive to the protected transistor is removed when the output is excessive. The feedback provides automatic resetting. In a known circuit also described a pulse at the base of an input shunting transistor effects resetting (Fig. 1, not shown).
