Abstract
1,068,075. Axial piston pumps. C-VAN DER LELY N. V. Sept. 9, 1964 [Sept. 19, 1963], No. 36993/64. Heading F1A. In a rotating cylinder block axial piston pump, the surface of a valve plate 11 facing the cylinder block is provided with recesses 34 and 35 in communication with valve ports 17 and 18, respectively, recesses 26 and 27 between the ports in communication with chambers 30 and 31, housing pistons in contact with a ported block, and a drainage recess in the centre of the plate and a drainage groove 41 communicating with the periphery of the plate. The valve plate (11), Fig. 1 (not shown), is located relative to the ported block (12) by means of pins (13, 14) and the ports (17, 18) in the plate communicate with ports (12A), Fig. 3 (not shown), in the block via ducts 19 and 20 and chambers 21 and 22, respectively. The chambers 21 and 22 house rings (23), Fig. 3, which seal around the ports (12A). The chambers and recesses are so dimen ioned that the valve plate is hydraulically balanced or biased by a small force towards the cylinder block. The bias may be provided by a spring between the valve plate and ported block. In further embodiments, Figs. 4 to 7 (not shown) different arrangements of recesses and grooves on the face of the port plate adjacent the cylinder block are illustrated. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 957,326.
