Abstract
1,066,320. Hydraulic transmission apparatus. A. H. CHEYNEY. Dec. 24, 1963 [Feb. 25, 1963], No. 50828/63. Heading B7H. [Also in Divisions E1 and F2] In an hydraulically driven vehicle with an hydraulically driven concrete extruder 35 the vehicle speed is regulated by the extruder motor input pressure as is also, preferably, the speed of an agitator 94. The extruder 35 may be raised or tilted by hydraulic rams 91, 92, and comprises a hopper 36 with a fluted mould 40 on which is mounted the agitator 94 and through which the concrete is pushed by extruders 38 driven by hydraulic motors 37. The engine 18 drives pairs of pumps 50 and 51 and pump 53 through shaft 45, chain 47 and a countershaft (48) (Fig. 3, not shown) and an hydraulic motor 20, which is supplied by one of the pumps 51, drives the vehicle through gearing 23-27 and shaft 14. The pumps 50 supply the extruder motors 37, the other pump 51 supplies a pair of conveyer motors 56, and pump 53 supplies the rams 90, 91 and the agitator motor 57. The motors 20 and 57 are controlled by spool valves 72, 73 in their respective hydraulic supply lines 82, 95, the valve spools having reduced end portions 75 of half the cross-sectional area of the portions 76, the two portions of each valve being connected by lines 70'with the inlet sides of the motors 37, the opposing axial spring and hydraulic forces determining the spool position and hence motor speed. The maximum drive motor speed is controlled manually by adjustable valve 83 in line 82.
