1279107 Hydrostatic transmission VON ROLL AG and CONSTANTIN RAUCH KG 1 Dec 1969 [29 Nov 1968] 58636/69 Heading F2C A hydrostatic transmission for a motor vehicle comprises variable displacement swash plate pump and motor units 1, 2 connected in closed circuit by supply and return conduits, each of which is divided into two parallel lines 13, 15; 14, 16 over at least part of its length, one line 13, 14 of each conduit being connected through non-return valves 21, 22 with a make up supply 23 whilst the other line 15, 16 of each conduit is connected through a shuttle valve 24 to an outlet 25. Liquid supplied through the make up line 23 therefore passes through the pump and motor units 1, 2 before it can flow through the outlet 25. The liquid flowing through the outlet 25 is cooled before being returned to the working circuit. The valves 21, 22, 24 may be provided in a valve plate between the pump and motor units or may be attached to the transmission casing adjacent the valve plate.
