1,065,691. Balanced amplitude modulation; amplifying circuits. HONEYWELL CONTROLS Ltd. Sept. 23, 1963 [Sept. 26, 1962], No.36580/62. Headings H3R and H3W. A D.C. modulation voltage is applied alternately to a pair of amplifiers V1, V2 by a vibratory switch A so that a balanced amplitude modulated output is derived between the amplifier anodes and fed over a transformer to the following A.C. amplifier. The switch A may alternatively be a valve or transistor. The switch A may, as shown, alternately shortcircuit the modulation input to one amplifier, or the single pole may be in series with the D.C. modulation and a high resistance, Fig. 2 (not shown), R 1 , R 2 then being omitted.
