[Also in Division B8] In a machine for forming packets (see Division B8), a web (148) (Fig. 1, not shown) folded to V-form is fed between sections of containers 50, the articles to be packaged are manually placed on the web, the sections are progressively closed, the web is cut between the containers by a rotating knife (150) (Fig. 2, not shown), and the containers are moved into a heater 164 where air is blown through a conduit 168, in which it is heated. The air then passes through louvred duets 176 into region 186, and thence returned to blower 172 by a conduit 170, thus shrinking and sealing the parts of the web projecting from the containers to form a bead sealed package (Fig. 15, not shown) which falls out of its associated container as the latter passes round an end sprocket.
