Abstract

1,063,783. Making sheets; corrugating; welding by pressure. VEREINIGTE OSTERREICHISCHE EISEN - UND STAHLWERKE - A.G. March 16, 1964 [March 19, 1963], No. 11027/64. Headings B3A, B3E and B3R. [Also in Divisions E1 and F4] Composite corrugated sheets are produced in a machine in which one sheet 54 is transversely corrugated between rolls 59, 60 and a second sheet 56 is longitudinally corrugated between rolls 64, 65 and the two sheets are welded together where their corrugations cross between grooved rollers 73, 74 by direct or alternating electric current from a transformer 75 through sliding contacts 76, 77. The speed of the sheets is synchronized by a movable reversing roller 72 over which the sheet 54 passes.
