Abstract

<PICT:1062360/C6-C7/1> A device for electroplating a number of small metal articles comprises one or more containers 5 rotatably and eccentrically mounted on a rotatable table 4. As shown, each container 5 comprises a cathodically connected cylindrical tank 8 having a tapering lower end and a cover 9 insulated from the tank and having a depending sleeve 12 acting as an anode, and the axes of the containers and table are vertical. An inlet port 11 is provided in the cover for articles to be plated e.g. screws 26 and for electrolyte, articles and electrolyte being withdrawn from the container by raising a plug 13 in the tapered base, the articles, the withdrawn electrolyte and excess electrolyte which escapes via overflow ports 15 and drain passages 14 in the plug being collected in the frame 1. Rotation of table and containers is effected by driving coaxial shafts 3, 20.
