Abstract
1,050,404. Barrel plating apparatus. H. HENIG. Feb.27, 1964 [Feb.27, 1963], No. 8249/64. Heading C7B. A barrel plating apparatus is provided with a tubular axis 15 serving as anode which is covered by a perforated sheath of insulating material 16 to prevent contact with the articles contained; a second anode is mounted exterior to the drum, and one or more cathodes 17, 18 covered at the upper ends with insulating material 21, 22 are immersed in the electrolyte and in contact with the articles to be plated. The rotary drum is preferably divided into separate containers, leaving a vertical gap in which is mounted the second anode in the form of a disc 23 preferably of a consumable metal.
