Abstract

Heading F2B: Sealing means between relatively rotating shafts 10, 12 comprises a split-ring 14 resiliently engaging one shaft 10 in sealing relationship and having axial projections 20 co-operating with radial flanges 22 on the other shaft 12 to form a seal, the flanges being of constant width so that the axial dimensions of the gaps 24 between them and the axial projections 20 is not varied by relative eccentric rotation of the shafts. The ring 14 may be of metal or of a thermosetting plastic reinforced with metal.
