Abstract

1,061,004. Electromagnetic relays. ARROW ELECTRIC SWITCHES Ltd. June 24, 1964 [July 29, 1963], No. 26072/64. Heading H2B. To ensure a sliding action each contact bridge 36 comprises a flexible member having contact surfaces 36a, 36c inclined to the direction of movement and co-operates with a pair of fixed contacts 26 having inclined contact surfaces 26b. The flexible contact bridges are made of phosphor-bronze and have arcuate silver contact buttons 36c at their ends. Elongated apertures in the bridges increase flexibility. Each fixed contact 26 has elongated parallel ridges 26c which are wiped over substantially their entire length by a contact button 36c during closure. The bridges are located in a two-part insulating carrier 30, 31 by pins 34 and are prevented from rotation by members 38 mounted on the pins. The members 38 also damp the contact bridges on opening. The two parts of the carrier are identical and are provided with interengaging portions.
