Abstract
Organosilicon derivatives of acetylenic ketones are obtained by oxidizing organosilicon derivatives of secondary acetylenic alcohols in which an organosilicon group is bonded through the silicon atom to a carbon atom of the alcohol. The oxidation is preferably effected in water or acetone using a solution of chromic anhydride or sodium dichromate in dil. sulphuric acid and the product is subsequently separated from the aqueous layer and distilled. In examples, the following compounds are prepared: 4 - trimethylsilylbutin - 3 - one - 2, 4 - dimethylethylsilyl - butin - 3 - one - 2, 4 - triethylsilyl - butin - 3 - one - 2, 5 - trimethylsilylpenten - 1 - in - 4 - one - 3, 5 - dimethylethylsilyl - pentin - 4 - one - 3, 5 - trimethylsilyl - pentadiin - 1,4 - one - 3, 3 - trimethylsilyl - 1 - phenylpropin - 2 - one - 1 and 7 - trimethylsilyl -hepten-1-diin-3,6-one-5.
