Abstract
1,058,793. Spring blocks. GEORGE ANGUS & CO. Ltd. Nov. 22, 19B3 [Nov. 22, 1962]. No. 46193/63. Heading F2S. A spring block consists of a stack of slabs 1, 2, 3 of elastomeric material sandwiched between opposed straps 4, 5 of which at least one is U- shaped. The straps have oppositely directed free ends for connection to a cable. The end slabs 2, 3 of the stock are made of a relatively hard plastics material as compared with the intermediate slab or slabs 1. The slabs 1 are preferably of cellular polyurethane, the slabs 2, 3 being of the same material although solid or finely cellular. In a modification one of the straps may be T or mushroom shaped, the leg of the strap passing through slots in the slabs and the U-shaped strap base (Fig. 2, not shown).
