Abstract

1,055,931. Rail vehicles. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG A.G. Jan. 10, 1964 [Jan. 15, 1963], No. 1276/64. Heading B7L. A wheel pair guiding system for rail vehicles comprises two vertically offset leaf springs 5, 6 which link an axle bearing casing 1 and a bogie frame 8, each of the springs 5, 6 being pivotally connected at one end and rigidly clamped at the other end, and the attachment points of the springs 5, 6 to the casing 1 being diametrically opposed at equal distances from the axle of the axle bearing casing, wherein for shortening the installation length at least one leaf spring is attached-to.the casing 1 and to the frame 8 at points which are on opposite sides of the vertical plane through the axle of the axle bearing casing 1. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the leaf springs 5, 6 are pivoted at one end to the casing 1 at points 3, 4; the leaf spring 6 is screwed at its other end to the bogie frame 8, and the leaf spring 5 is secured by clamping of its other end between the bogie frame and its supporting helical suspension spring 9. The leaf springs 5, 6 are horizontally rigid and vertically resilient, but the bogie frame weight is carried by helical suspension springs 9, 10 supported on brackets on the casing 1. The bogie may be multi-axled. In another embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the leaf springs extend from points of rigid attachment on the frame to the casing 1, but the points are on opposite sides of the axis of rotation of the wheel pair. In a further embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), only one helical suspension spring is used and it is disposed vertically over the casing. In yet another embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), the leaf springs arepivotally connected to the bogie frame and.not to the casing, and are rigidly clamped to the casing and not to the bogie frame.
